Materials

  • Leather

Akribis leather bags are built using 7.5 - 8 ounce chrome tanned US Hides (doubly thick work boot leather). We order with added oils to help with water resistance and a tight suede side to give durability and consistency. We’ve tried to strike a happy medium between heavy thick leather that is extremely durable but still pliable enough to break in to get the best fit for the user. Our belts as well as the high abrasion/abused areas of the bags are outfitted with 10 - 12 ounce retan latigo leather with extra oil to help with water resistance.

  • Rivets

Rivets are set in a variety of ways depending on structural need and desired aesthetic. Striking the correct balance between form and function is something we pride ourselves on and are always seeking to improve. Some rivets locations have been upgraded to Chicago screws to aid with versatility and replacement. Specifically the rafter square slot.

  • Metal

Akribis hammer loops, tool hooks and drill clips are manufactured in house and made with stainless steel to ensure longevity in the harshest environments. The D rings used are “long D’s” which ensure correct orientation under load. Because they are taller than they are wide, they don’t move or spin. Instead, they stay upright and in place.

  • Stitching

We use size 277 thread and finish all stitch lines with rivets. We triple stitch all points prone to failure.
