Import Fees for US Customers
In our ongoing effort to make shipping a painless and positive experience for our customers we've recently made significant changes to our process. Import fees are no longer a concern for our US customers. However, due to tariffs imposed by the US government we've had to remove any item that incurs tariffs and the resulting import fees.
What are Import Fees?
Import fees are made up of two parts:
- Government fees (duties or tariffs, set by the US government)
- Brokerage fees (the administrative cost of moving your package through customs, set by UPS)
With our recent changes import fees are not billed to the receiver. If UPS emails you with an invoice for any tariff and brokerage costs please let us know right away.
Tariffs on our Leather Goods
Our current trade agreement with the United States (CUSMA) allows for our leather goods to be tariff free because they're manufactured here in Canada. However, due to recent steel tariffs certain steel only products will be tariffed. These steel tariffs and others are why we've removed tools and steel accessories from our website. They generate substantial additional cost to our US customers, create delays, and cause too much frustration. We will add tools and steel accessories back to our site once the tariffs are removed.
Brokerage Fees
These are the costs associated with UPS processing a package through customs. These fees are covered in your initial shipping price.
Shipping Time
Our manufacturing and assembly time is 1-3 weeks depending on the order. Once your order is ready to ship you'll receive an email from us with tracking details. We ship all US orders by UPS Worldwide Expedited which is an air service with a shipping time of 2-5 business days.
