Shipping
Where do you ship?
Almost everywhere. We ship across North America and to most international locations. To see if we ship to your address, enter it at checkout. If you run into any issues, reach out, and we’ll see what we can do.
How much does shipping cost?
You pay exactly what the shipping carrier charges—no handling fees, no markups. Rates are calculated at checkout based on your location and package size.
If you’re working with a crew, consider bundling orders—a lot of teams do this to save on shipping.
How long until my order ships?
Depends on what you ordered.
- In-stock items (tools, accessories, workwear) ship in 3–5 business days.
- Made-to-order bags (Modular & Stitched-In-Place) take 2–3 weeks to be built before shipping.
- Custom orders (special modifications, engraving, unique layouts) take up to 4 weeks.
To keep your shipping costs down, we ship everything together—so if your order includes a made-to-order bag, everything will ship once it’s ready.
How long does shipping take?
Once your order leaves our shop, delivery times depend on your location and the shipping method you choose:
- Canada & U.S.: Typically 5–10 business days.
- International: Varies based on location and customs but expect 10–21 business days.
Note: Once your order ships, it can take up to 4 days for tracking info to update, so don’t panic if you don’t see movement right away.
What is Route Package Protection, and should I get it?
Route is an optional shipping protection service that covers your order against theft, loss, or damage in transit. If something happens to your package, Route handles the claim and replacement or refund—fast.
Without Route, lost or stolen packages are your responsibility, as Akribis doesn’t have control over shipments once they leave our shop.
We recommend adding Route at checkout, especially if your package will be left unattended or if your area has frequent delivery issues.
Can I add signature confirmation to my delivery?
Yes. At checkout, you can add signature confirmation for $2. This ensures the package isn’t left unattended and requires someone to be present to sign for it.
However, even with signature confirmation, we still recommend Route Package Protection, since signatures don’t protect against all loss or theft scenarios.
What if my package is lost or stolen?
If you purchased Route Package Protection, file a claim through Route’s website, and they’ll process your refund or replacement quickly.
If you didn’t purchase Route, you’ll need to file a claim with the shipping carrier. Akribis is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged packages once they leave our shop, as we don’t have any control over them in transit.
Do you ship internationally? Will I have to pay import fees?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Customs fees, duties, and taxes are your responsibility and will depend on your country’s regulations.
These charges aren’t included at checkout, so check your local import rules before ordering. Akribis doesn’t have any control over these costs.

Do you carry left-handed bags?
Every bag is available in a left-handed version, ensuring your left side is your dominant side for a setup that works naturally with your workflow.
What’s the difference between Stitched-In-Place and Modular bags?
Stitched-In-Place bags are built as a single, fixed setup—everything is locked in and won’t shift over time. It’s the most durable, streamlined, and balanced option since the weight is evenly distributed.
Modular bags give you the freedom to adjust, swap, and reconfigure your setup as needed. Outer bags, clip-on accessories, and aux bags can be moved or replaced, so you can fine-tune your rig as your workflow changes. Ideal for those who like to tweak their layout or carry different tools for different jobs.
I need something slightly different than the stock options available. Can I customize my setup?

- Tool & Bag Relocation – Shift tools, bags, or hardware to non-stock positions for a setup that works the way you do.
- Small Feature Adjustments – Fine-tune parts, accessories, or bag features to boost functionality.
- Add-Ons – Go a step further with laser engraving or custom color modifications (additional charges apply).
How to Place a Custom Order
- Add the Custom Order option and the Akribis products you want to customize to your cart.
- Fill out the form with your requested modifications—be as specific as possible.
- Checkout.

How do I choose the best setup for my trade?
We’ve put together our most recommended setups for different trades (both Modular and Stitched-In-Place), but there’s no single “right” answer. Our bags are versatile and flexible, so there’s room to adapt based on your personal workflow.

Why is my leather bag stiff/tight?
Our leather bags are designed to be sturdy and durable. They may feel stiff or tight at first, but this is intentional to ensure a perfect fit over time. Here’s what you need to know:
- Tight Tool Locations: The tool slots are designed to be tight initially. This might be frustrating at first, but it’s to ensure they mold perfectly to your tools with use. For example, the pencil slots are intentionally tight. Working a pencil in and out for a few minutes will help loosen them up.
- Using Leather Balm: Applying leather balm can help soften the leather and speed up the break-in process. Any spot that feels too tight or rigid will soften with repeated use and leather balm.
- Stretching Techniques: For areas like the belt loop, which might be too tight to pull the belt through initially, we recommend using pliers to pull the belt through. This tightness is by design to account for the natural stretching of leather over time.
If you find certain spots too tight, use needle nose pliers to work the leather and help it stretch. This process might take a little effort initially, but it ensures that your leather bag will fit your tools perfectly and last a long time.
Leather Care
How do I maintain my leather tool belt and accessories?
Akribis gear is built tough, but leather lasts longer with the right care. Here’s how to keep your setup in top shape:
- Regular Cleaning: Use an air compressor or a dry brush to remove dust and debris. Wipe with a damp cloth if needed—avoid soaking the leather.
- Conditioning: Apply Akribis Leather Balm periodically to prevent drying and cracking, especially if you work in harsh weather.
- Storage: Keep your gear in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or moisture.
- Avoid Chemicals: Harsh cleaners, solvents, and oils can weaken leather fibers—stick to leather-safe products.
Can I speed up the break-in process?
The best way to break in leather is through daily use. Some tradespeople lightly flex stiff areas with their hands, but we don’t recommend soaking or over-conditioning—it can weaken the leather.
What if my gear gets wet?
- Dry it slowly—stuff pouches with paper towels and let them air-dry at room temperature.
- Do not use direct heat (like a hairdryer or heater)—this can cause cracking.
- Once dry, apply Akribis Leather Balm or another conditional treatment to restore flexibility.
How often should I condition my leather gear?
At least once a year, or whenever the leather looks dry. If you work in wet conditions, concrete, or extreme heat, you may need to condition it more often.

What’s the Akribis Guarantee?
We stand by our craftsmanship. For all leather products, we offer free repairs on stitching and rivets within 1 year of purchase—just cover the shipping.
For tools and other gear, warranties vary by manufacturer, and Akribis honours those guarantees. If you need help with a warranty claim, reach out and we’ll assist however we can.
Can I return or exchange my order?
If you’re unhappy with your bag, we’d love the chance to make it right. If a solution can’t be found, you can return the product within 3 months of purchase as long as it’s new and unused.
We’ll issue a full refund, but original shipping and return shipping costs aren’t covered.
Payments & Gift Cards
How do Akribis gift cards work?
Akribis gift cards are flexible and easy to use. You can:
- Choose the amount you want to give
- Send it instantly or schedule it for a future date
- Personalize it with a message—or even record a video
- Use multiple gift cards on a single order
- Spend it over time—any remaining balance stays on the card
Gift cards are delivered by email and can be redeemed at checkout. They can’t be used to buy another gift card.
How do I check my gift card balance?
Not sure how much is left on your Akribis Leather gift card? Use our Gift Card Balance Checker—just enter your gift card number to see your available balance.
Can I use multiple payment methods on one order?
You can combine a gift card with a credit card or another accepted payment method. However, we can’t split a payment between two credit cards or multiple payment options
