Takes a bit of time to get used to the feel of swinging titanium, but once you've got the weight balance figured out the Dalluge is a great hammer at a very reasonable price.
Great light hammer, knurled the handle.. pl premium glue into the joint to head and extra blue locktite in the screws this should help with the design flaw.
The square corners help get in tight for toenailed heads!
I've been putting this hammer through its paces through a hefty variety of jobs (forming, finishing, some light demo, renos, etc), and with every swing it actually, genuinely, delights me. Yes, I've been a tad more conscious of the wooden handle (still going back to my 22oz DeWalt for stripping forms and heavy demos just in case), but I figure it'll just require a mild adjustment of technique to ensure longevity... and in the absolute worst case, I rest easy knowing that Akribis tends to have replacement handles on hand.
I very much prefer the balance of the Dalluge to other titanium hammers (including the ones with more than twice the cost); the wooden handle slides effortlessly in and out of a leather sheath (which I love); it's feather-light, the recoil is excellent, swings are effortless (even at awkward angles), and even after a full day of manually driving nails (of which there are many) I don't feel anywhere near as strained nor fatigued as I used to. The side-puller was also a huge selling point (I use it a lot), and the overstrike-protected design is prime because when pulling stubborn old nails I often like to "hook strike" the nail bar with the underside of the hammer head... and I can throw the smooth face at literally anything without fear of undue marking.
Okay, rant over. I never thought I'd get so giddy about a hammer, but here I am. Here's to many years with this as my daily driver.
I've been swinging a 28oz eswing and Milwaukee for my entire 17 year career and have resisted titanium until recently due to starting to get tendonitis in my shoulder. I tried my dad's stelleto hammer for a few weeks and wasn't all that happy with it. I decided to try this dalluge with the long straight handle and the reasonable price point and so far,I'm loving it. Haven't done any forming with it yet so we'll see how the face holds up to smacking wedges in the spring but so far so good!
Love this hammer. Been swinginga 28oz estwing for 10 years now and the difference with this thing is night and day.
Great Hammer
I am a little disappointed in the hammer within the first two days the clear coat on the hammer began to chip off in multiple spots the Hammerhead itself deformed at a level that was par with a Canadian Tire steel hammer My Martinez M1 Has less Damage to the milled face After five years of use Then This hammer had in three days That is a serious statement without Exaggeration The bolts that hold the hammer head to the handle Were loose Within the first Hour of use And the finish on the wood on the hammer Looks Cheaply done Not form-fitting to the head
Super marteau, 👍👍👍
All honesty here, I’ve got the stiletto 16oz hickory handle and Martinez m4 16oz. These 2 can’t compare to THE DALLUGE, lightest of them all and feels great in your hands highly recommend as it’s half the price of a Martinez thingy ma bob
Wanted this hammer for years now, and woe does it drive! I have the stiletto 14 oz wood, and some how this 16 oz one is so much well balenced it feels lighter and easier on my joints, I love it such an upgrade ❤️
