Akribis Package Protection
Optional coverage for loss, theft, and damage in transit
Even the best carriers drop the ball sometimes. That’s why we offer Akribis Package Protection—an optional service you can add at checkout to protect your order from loss, theft, or damage once it leaves our shop.
If something happens to your shipment, we’ll make it right. Quickly and without the usual back-and-forth with the carrier.
What Akribis Package Protection Covers
1. Lost Packages
Your order is considered lost if:

It’s been more than 10 business days since tracking last updated (domestic), or 20 business days for international shipments.

Tracking shows “in transit” but there’s no movement for an extended period.

The carrier cannot confirm the parcel’s location.
2. Stolen Packages
Your order is considered stolen if:

Tracking shows the package was delivered, but you didn’t receive it.

There’s no evidence of misdelivery or it hasn’t turned up after checking with neighbors, the building manager, or delivery photos (if provided).
In these cases, we ask that you wait at least 2 business days after the delivery scan to allow time for possible delays or mis-scans before filing a claim.
3. Damaged Packages
Your order is considered damaged if:

Items arrive visibly damaged.

The package was opened or tampered with in transit, and items are missing.
What’s Not Covered
Akribis Package Protection does not cover:

Incorrect or incomplete shipping addresses entered at checkout.

Delays in transit due to weather, carrier backlog, or holiday surges.

Customs delays or fees for international shipments.

Packages returned to us due to unpaid duties, unclaimed deliveries, or incorrect addresses (return shipping costs will be deducted from any refund).

Refused shipments or parcels marked undeliverable by the carrier.

Buyer’s remorse—this isn’t a product satisfaction guarantee. If you’re unhappy with what you ordered, reach out separately to start a return or exchange.

Replacement shipments that were already covered and successfully fulfilled through Akribis Package Protection.
How to File a Claim
If your package is lost, stolen, or arrives damaged, you can file a claim here:

What Happens Next
Once we receive your claim, we’ll review it and respond within 1–2 business days. If approved, we’ll issue a refund (less original shipping costs).
If You Didn’t Add Package Protection
If you didn’t opt in at checkout, Akribis Leather cannot guarantee orders once they’ve left our shop. In that case, you’ll need to file a claim with the shipping carrier directly and follow their investigation process.
We recommend adding Package Protection for peace of mind—especially if your order is high-value, time-sensitive, or being delivered to a location where packages may be left unattended.
